ICS has officially announced the formalisation of our commitment to our sister school in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Shree Mangal Dvip School (SMD) and ICS have worked together for the past two decades to provide for the forgotten children of the Himalayas an education, and an opportunity to change the world.

This commitment will see our schools partner to develop our inter-cultural experiences – opportunities that span teacher training, hybrid learning, and educational expeditions.

This is so much more than a stand-alone experience. From CAS to service learning, curriculum to teacher development, The Saathi Project^TM is designed as a whole school project for our young people to see the impact they can have in their world.

Our Board of Trustees has committed to this important work; our partnership, our sponsorship, and our fundraising ambition are now prepared; and so we begin to climb the mountain together.

We are immensely grateful to our community for the generosity that has profoundly impacted our sister school, SMD. Your unwavering support continues to open doors of opportunity and hope.

Last year, we raised CHF 40'000 to fund up to 10 students per year for their entire 4-year university course at Kathmandu University. Your contributions help shape a brighter future, empowering young scholars to achieve their dreams.

We look forward to sharing the inspiring initiatives at SMD that your support makes possible.

Acharya Lama Karma Sangbo also expressed gratitude for our sponsors saying, “Through compassionate activity we have become a family; we are not just looking for donations but for others to be connected with the Thrangu Rinpoche family.” He then quoted a Buddhist teaching: “What you give away is really yours and what you keep is not yours.” Meaning the goodness of a gift is inexhaustible.
