ICS Tigers Scoring Big this Winter

ICS Tigers Scoring Big this Winter

ICS teams have been enjoying a genuine “athletics bonanza” this winter, making an impact in every one of their SGIS and SCIS competitions!

Whether in the pool, on the basketball court or on the snowy slopes of Switzerland, our ICS athletes continue to impress with their achievements, success and fair play.

Each member of the MS Swim Team had at least one personal best at the SCIS Championships in Athens and our HS swimmers SCIS Championships in Warsaw had 6 top 5 finishes, including two 2nd and two 3rd place rankings.

Our JV Girls’ Basketball Team placed 3rd at the SGIS Championships, with team member Solenn as leading scorer, and the ICS JV Boys’ Basketball Team also took 3rd place topped off their success by coming home with the Sportsmanship award.

And finally, the ICS Ski Team also showed excellent results recently on the slopes in Gstaad.

SGIS is the Swiss Group of International Schools, an organization of International Schools in Switzerland which supports the member schools and provides opportunities in a variety of areas such as curriculum and sports. SCIS is the Sports Council of International Schools, a European sports conference bringing together 13 member schools from seven countries and organizing tournaments over the course of the year in nine sports over three age categories in Middle and High School. Our membership in a total of four sports leagues allows students to participate in friendly local matches and also test their skills at higher levels of competition throughout Switzerland and the rest of Europe.

We congratulate all the ICS winter sports teams for their outstanding athletic achievements and for their sportsmanship! Go Tigers!
