Are you a Grade 6, 7 or 8 student at ICS? Do you love to read? Are you up for a challenge? This week, these 3 questions will be answered with a clear "yes" by students interested in forming teams of up to 4 members and joining in the annual Battle of the Books (BoB) competition.
Registration for ICS BoB teams starts this Friday 03 November in the Secondary library and students should have their teams of 3-4 classmates chosen and ready. Student can then check out one book at a time of the eight books chosen by the BoB taskforce and librarians.
After reading the eight assigned books, teams will compete at our school's semi-finals on Wednesday 28 February 2018. The winning ICS team will go on to compete in the finals on Wednesday 7 March 2018 against other international schools at a yet to be determined location.
The Battle of the Books, now in its 15th year, is a popular annual reading competition for Middle School students. Cheered on by their classmates, last year's Grade 6 Bananarama team made up of Luca P, Sam P, Jordan H, and Nathan M, represented ICS at the inter-school competition hosted by ICS and took first place in February 2017 against teams from ZIS and ISZL.
In the BoB finals scheduled for March 2018, the top ICS team will once again be testing their knowledge against BoB teams from other international schools. The competition will be tough and given the superb results ICS has achieved in recent years, this year's ICS Battle of the Books team will have a lot to live up to!
