Early Years Programme
Small classes; a caring community
The Pre-School Programme at ICS - for our youngest students, aged from 3-5 - is a nurturing and dynamic community.
The philosophy of the pre-school teaching team places the child at the centre of his/her individual learning journey.
Early Years 1 Bilingual Strand. From August 2016, children in Early Years 1 (age 3) can learn English and German.
At the Inter-Community School Zurich, we place importance on families being involved in the class and the wider school community.
The Early Years Programme is part of the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum we offer throughout ICS. As our staff encourage Early Years students to inquire and ask questions, they are introducing them to a style of learning used throughout the IB programme. This helps the children if they stay in the IB programme, but also gives them a strong grounding if they transfer into another education system, as the IB curriculum is recognised worldwide. See the International Baccalaureate Organisation's video below about Early Years and Primary Years learning.
