Reconnecting in London

Against the iconic backdrop of London, Community & Communications Specialist, Ms Hongsie Namingha and I welcomed student and teacher Alumni for a cosy reunion that proved distance is no barrier to lifelong connections. On Saturday 17 January 2026, Alumni and members of our Leadership Team, Mr Gabriel Di Mauro, Senior School Principal, Ms Lynda Miller, Primary School Principal, and Ms Alice Aschwanden, Head of People and Culture as well as our upcoming Head of School, Mr Patrick Philips, gathered at a lovely pub in Holland Park to reconnect, reminisce, and celebrate the shared experiences that continue to unite them—no matter where life has taken them. The setting itself—classic, vibrant, and unmistakably London—added a special energy to the evening.
From warm greetings to animated conversations over nibbles, the evening was filled with laughter, reflection, and a renewed sense of community. Stories of campus life blended seamlessly with conversations about careers and adventures abroad. It is clear the impact that ICS has on former students and teachers. A particular remark by one of the former students highlighted the kind support she received by her teachers, guiding her alongside the rigorousness of the IB programme, which led to an ease in the first year of university studies.
The true success of these reunions lie in the connections rekindled and newly formed. One theme came through loud and clear: alumni are eager to stay connected. They shared a strong interest in engaging through career fairs, professional networking opportunities, and future alumni reunions, both in London and beyond. These conversations highlighted the value alumni place on supporting one another professionally while continuing to build meaningful social connections.
