Learning extends far beyond the classroom walls. Investments in our co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes are not simply expenditures on sports uniforms, sports fields, clubs, or creative spaces; they are investments in growth, wellbeing, and future success of every student.
As part of the school’s “Resources” pillar, ICS continues to strengthen the environments and opportunities that allow students to discover passions, develop transferable skills, and build meaningful relationships. This vision became clearly visible on campus this week as the scaffolding was removed, allowing the community to fully appreciate the scale and impact of the Main Building extension.
The school’s Student Life programmes foster an environment where learners express themselves through co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities which allow for growth, the discovery of passion, and the development of transferable skills and an enhanced sense of identity.
Importantly, investment in resources creates inclusivity. Quality sports fields, equipment, learning spaces, and activity materials ensure that students of different abilities and interests can participate fully. A welcoming environment encourages students to try something new, whether that means joining a football team, participating in theatre production, engaging in Model United Nations, or playing chess. These opportunities allow students to discover strengths and interests that may not emerge during traditional classroom lessons.
Investment in co-curricular and extra-curricular programmes is therefore not an “extra”; it is a core part of Our Kind of Education. By continuing to invest in facilities, equipment, staff expertise, and innovative programmes, ICS ensures that students are not only academically prepared, but also equipped with the confidence, character, and life skills needed to thrive in an ever-changing world.
