ICS Grade 5 Primary Years Programme (PYP) Exhibition

On the 28-29 March, members of the ICS community were able to view student work through an exhibition. Through the PYP Exhibition, students came to understand the responsibilities associated with being internationally minded and helping to create a better and more peaceful world.

This culminating experience in Grade 5 represents a significant event in the life of a PYP school, enabling Grade 5 to develop as internationally-minded students who can make a positive difference in their lives and the world around them.

Throughout the year, our Grade 5 students have taken responsibility for their own learning by exploring, documenting and sharing their understanding of a significant issue they have chosen to inquire into. Throughout their inquiry, the students have developed valuable skills such as research and self-management skills, competencies that will support their transition to Middle School and beyond.

This year, all of the Grade 5 inquiries connect to one of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). These 17 Goals address a range of issues, including education, health, inequalities and climate change. By taking action and inspiring others, students can help create a better and more peaceful world.

Our Grade 5 students presented their learning via the websites they have created. By visiting the websites, visitors were able to see how our students have developed and applied their knowledge, conceptual understandings, skills and learner profile attributes, all key elements of the PYP.
