This November, the Primary School community at ICS will be bringing an exceptional musical to life with our production of Forest Gang Musical. This musical promises to be an extraordinary celebration of creativity, collaboration, and the unique spirit that thrives at ICS.
Forest Gang is a project with deep roots in our community, showcasing not only the talents of our young performers, but also the dedication and passion of everyone involved in its creation. This musical was first imagined by ICS Grade 8 student Inza V., who wrote the script last year. Due to unforeseen challenges, the original performance was postponed, allowing our Primary students to stage the beloved Tiger Tales in its place. Now, with Forest Gang finally set to debut, we’re thrilled to see Inza’s vision come to life on stage.
Our performing arts teacher, Mr Paul Fowler, who also composed the musical score, has taken on the role of director. Assisting him in this incredible endeavour are Ms Judy Firkins, Ms Emily McGuckian, Ms Kirsten Hougen and Ms Maggie Johnson. It’s truly a community-wide effort, with many volunteering their time and expertise to support our young performers and ensure the production runs smoothly.
The visual artistry behind Forest Gang deserves its own round of applause as well. Our talented art teacher, Ms Joanna Moon and parent volunteer Ms Lorena Moro have been hard at work designing costumes, while Mr Andrew Bell, our design teacher, has crafted the imaginative sets that will transport the audience into the heart of the forest.
Productions like Forest Gang are wonderful examples of the creativity that flourishes within our Primary Years Programme, where students are encouraged to explore their passions and strive to reach their full potential—values that are at the core of our school’s mission.
With performances scheduled for 21 - 23 November 2024, we eagerly invite families to join us for one of the four planned shows, though space is limited to 80 seats per performance. Booking information may be found in the school Bulletin.
As we count down to the Opening Night, we can already feel the excitement building. This promises to be an unforgettable show, with our students’ hard work and creativity shining brightly for all to see. Don’t miss this chance to experience the magic of Forest Gang with us.
Kind regards,
