Today’s Spotlight is on the outdoors; on changes you will soon see to the landscape of the School. About building our future.
As we welcome our Project Manager, Ms Hester Dekker, in the first week of February, we enter an exciting new stage of our Building Project. Our community will begin to see preparations commence in earnest for the next phase of planning; planning that should become visible in the Summer of 2024.
In the coming week, staff, students and families will notice minor changes to the campus grounds as part of the planning permission process.
The basketball court, which will be transformed into The Pavilion in Stage 1B of the Building Project, will have located around it the Baugespanne; building profiles that are designed to indicate the height and length of a planned project. These poles are part of the evolution of the process for approval of the building here in Switzerland, and indicate the height and length of the building in its entirety.
The Main Campus, which will be extended in Stage 2, known as The Extension, will also have located around it the Baugespanne. These will indicate the height of the planned extension to the Main Campus in preparation for an additional floor to house a state-of-the-art Creative Arts Centre.
Upon Hester’s arrival on Campus, our community will be invited to learn more about the timeline and evolution of the Building Project.
In the interim, we are excited to share with you, via our website, the visualisations which capture the changes to the Campus and the exciting opportunity this provides for our school, and for the future of our students.
Kind regards,
Lucy M. Gowdie
