Theatre Arts

Telling Stories Through Performance

Theatre at ICS fosters creativity, collaboration, and a deep appreciation for the performing arts. Through classroom learning, productions, workshops, and trips, our students gain confidence, develop essential life skills, and engage with the wider artistic world.

Opportunities for all

Performing Arts offers students of all ages the chance to explore and develop their passion for theatre. From acting to directing, set design to technical theatre, there’s a role for everyone in our dynamic and inclusive programme.

ICS Productions

Theatre productions are a cornerstone of our school community and showcase the talents of students across ICS. Productions alternate between large-scale musicals and plays.

In addition to these secondary productions, our Primary School Musical is a much-loved annual tradition, giving younger students the chance to shine on stage and build confidence in performance.

These productions are supported by students and staff across disciplines, making them true community events.

International Theatre Engagement

ICS is a proud participant in international theatre events, allowing students to collaborate with peers and professionals from around the world.

Whether performing onstage, learning backstage skills, or experiencing theatre as an audience member, ICS students are immersed in the transformative power of the performing arts.

Professional Theatre Collaboration

At ICS, we forge meaningful links with international theatre companies, bringing professional expertise directly to our students. This year, we are proud to welcome UK-based theatre company The Paper Birds to ICS. Known for their innovative approach to devised theatre, The Paper Birds will run hands-on workshops with students, inspiring them to create original, thought-provoking work.

Theatre Trips

At ICS, we believe in the power of experiencing live theatre. Throughout the year, students have opportunities to attend professional plays and musicals, both locally and internationally. These trips deepen students’ appreciation for theatre, exposing them to diverse styles, practitioners, and cultures. Recent outings have included productions in Zurich, London’s West End, and regional tours.
