Our Pedagogical Approach
ICS Nursery provides a nurturing and intentional environment where the foundations for lifelong enquiry are laid. We view every child as a competent, curious, and capable individual.

Our Pedagogical Approach
Our approach is holistic and child-centered, prioritising the development of agency and a sense of belonging. Learning is co-constructed through a balance of child-initiated play and teacher-guided provocations. Drawing inspiration from the Reggio Emilia philosophy and the IB PYP Early Years framework, we create a responsive curriculum that honours the child’s voice and developmental journey.

Our Image of the Child
Our image of the child is one of a competent and connected learner. We celebrate diversity and international-mindedness, fostering an environment where every child feels seen and heard. We nurture, integrate and respect children so that they can become healthy and happy individuals. We achieve this by creating a trusting atmosphere where children are listened to and their needs addressed.
Developing Young Minds
The ICS Nursery programme is designed to gently support children as they develop friendships, discover independence and explore learning in a nurturing and caring environment.
We establish routines to guide the children through their daily activities, recognising the individuality of each child and helping them to express their needs and recognise boundaries as they discover the rules and etiquette of our Nursery community.
We support the development of self-regulation and empathy, helping children develop the social and emotional attributes of the IB Learner Profile from their very first steps at school.
