Early Years Open House

The inviting spaces in our Early Years Centre inspire children’s creativity and spark their imaginations. Join your child in exploring them during our Open House for Preschool and Kindergarten children on Friday 3 April 2020.

Open House RSVP

early years students, international school

Come and meet our Early Years teachers, discuss your child’s needs with the Early Years Coordinator, explore the classrooms and learning spaces, experience the bilingual (English/German) strand, find out about Waldkinder (forest) learning at ICS and hear about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme.

We look forward to welcoming you and your family between 09:15 - 11:15 at our Early Years Centre.

I think it’s great how the kids all work together and learn to share. Children’s interests are at the center of this classroom - these kids are learning and having fun. It’s amazing how 40 years after I went to school, education as the way we run classrooms and kids interactions have changed and improved. All the social interactions, ‘learning by doing’, flourishing the kids creativity at an early age, is truly a pleasure to witness. Thank you! Maziar D, ICS Early Years Parent

Parent Perspectives

Bilingual Strand

Children can enter the bilingual strand to learn both English and German within the classroom setting. Both languages are then used throughout the day to support their learning.

The idea is to make the German language a normal part of everyone’s day; then the students see a purpose. The language is meaningful and it's embedded with what the children do every day in class.
Mrs C, Head of Primary German

Early Years Nursery

Early Years 1 is for children age 3 years by 1 September. Younger children who turn 3 after September 1 attend the Early Years Nursery class. This programme gently supports children as they develop friendships, discover independence and explore learning in a nurturing and caring environment. Children welcomed into the Nursery join Early Years 1 the following school year.

In the Early Years’ classrooms students make strong choices – they negotiate, persevere and share resources. They learn an array of vital social skills that will serve them throughout life.
