Spreading Holiday Cheer at Zurich's Singing Christmas Tree

With two Singing Christmas Tree performances, the ICS Singers delighted listeners gathered at Werdmühleplatz.

The pre-holiday season around Zurich's Werdmühleplatz became a little bit brighter last night during two enthusiastic 17:30 and 18:30 Singing Christmas Tree performances by the ICS Singers.

This well-loved tradition is part of the Wiehnachtsmärt, a small Christmas market just a few steps from Zurich's Bahnhofstrasse. Different choirs from in and around Zurich gather each evening throughout the Advent season to sing carols on a multi-level stage built in the shape of a large Christmas tree.

Wearing traditional red hats provided by the Singing Christmas Tree, 37 ICS singers were very well received by an attentive audience of ICS families and passers-by. They sang a repertoire of 7 songs which included seasonal favourites like Frosty the Snowman, Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, Jingle Bell Rock and All I Want for Christmas is You.

As in past years, ICS live-streamed the 17:30 performance via our Facebook page. If you missed the performances and would like to hear ICS Singers, you can view the video here.
