ICS families and friends gathered in the Main Hall yesterday evening to enjoy the annual Spring Concert and G6-8 Visual Art Exhibition.
The annual ICS Spring Concert offers students the opportunity to showcase their musical ability and perform live before a supportive ICS community audience. Yesterday evening's performances once again highlighted the musical talent of our ICS singers and musicians with two students' performances being recorded as part of their International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Music coursework.
The evening's musical mix encompassed group performances by the ICS Ukulele Club playing Everybody Gets A Kitten; the ICS Wind Band, with their rendition of When the Saints Go Marching In and Mack the Knife; Locked Out, playing Sweater Weather and featuring Lisa Z. on keyboard, Joshua A. on guitar, Matisse C. on drums, with vocals by Phoebe N., and ICS Stage Band performing Goodbye My Heart, Oye Como Va and Thriller.
Solo performers included Leo N. playing Meeresrauschen, a piano piece; Ryo I. with Someday my Prince will Come on the trombone; and on violin, Brendan McG., playing movement three of the Concerto in A minor by Vivaldi.
Monica C. sang Remedy accompanied by Sabina A., and Sabina also accompanied Sophie K.'s cello piece Élegié. Caterina G. and Noa M. combined voice and piano in their rendition of The Sign of the Times.
Refreshments were available in the Bistro area during the intermission, with proceeds from the sales going to Grade 7 Round Square projects. Visitors were also able to view an exhibition of an impressive collection of prints, pottery and paintings created by our talented G6-8 student visual artists.
