Two ICS G6 students were selected to sing with the AMIS European Middle School Honour Girls' Choir last weekend.
ICS is a member of the Association for Music in International Schools (AMIS). Each year, we attend several of the music festivals run by AMIS, including the European Middle School Honour Girls' Choir.
Two Grade 6 students, Catalina K. and Grace P., attended the festival from 27-29 April at ISZL. The ICS singers were among 140 girls selected from 22 international schools all over Europe and as far away as Brazil and the Dominican Republic.
The festival included two days of intense rehearsals before the Gala Concert performance in the Baarburg Theatre at ISZL on Saturday evening. With Lisa Ross, Choral Director at the American School of London conducting, the choir's repertoire included works ranging from the Renaissance period to Lady Gaga, sung in English, French, Kwangali/Sotho and Bulgarian.
