Making Beautiful Music Together!

ICS student musicians performed in concert with students from the Zumikon Musikschule last weekend in the Reformierte Kirche.

The annual MehrGenerationenKonzerte was held at the Reformierte Kirche Zumikon on Saturday 1 December and once again, this year's Satuday afternoon of music afternoon featured ICS Primary and Secondary music ensembles playing and singing together with Zumikon Musikschule students.

The concert began at 13:00 with classical music played by the 'ICS Strings' and Grade 9 'Vianello Trio' which included, among other selections, the Andante from a Piano Concert by Mozart, the Largo from Xerxes by Händel and Salut d’Amour by Elgar.

At 15:00 it was time for the Jazz/World performers to come on stage as the ICS Singers performed their renditions of Peaceful Night, Jingle Bell Rock and Frosty the Snowman.

The Pop/Rock category rounded off Saturday’s concert experience with the ICS ‘Hit Band’ playing numbers like Footprints by Wayne Shorter and Bésame Mucho; the ICS Stage Choir performing A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman; and the ICS Stage Band delighting the audience with their renditions of Bad by Michael Jackson, Low Rider by War, and Riders on the Storm by The Doors.

This year’s musically diverse MehrGenerationenKonzerte was an excellent opportunity to highlight the talents of all of our ICS student musicians and singers, and a perfect way to start the holiday season!
