Family Transitions
Helping families overcome the challenges of settling down and then moving again is what ICS excels at.
We understand that new students may feel a little nervous about entering ICS. When transitioning to a new school, it's natural to wonder how you will find your way around, make friends and settle into learning.
At ICS, we try to make new students' arrival as smooth as possible. We have students who are happy to help new arrivals. Student Buddies in Primary and Student Ambassadors in Secondary volunteer to welcome newcomers and help them settle into our community.
When you start a new journey, understanding that you belong is imperative. Our Orientation Days are designed to connect our families to the School and to open the door to the uniqueness of the ICS experience.
Ms Lucy Gowdie, Head of School
Every August, two days before school starts, we hold a New Students' Orientation Day. The date for this event is published in our School Calendar. We urge new ICS families to attend. It gives new students a chance to look around the school, meet teachers and fellow students, and join in some activities.
We also welcome parents at the Orientation Day. It is a chance to come and meet teachers and ask questions. Volunteers from our Parents' Association are also invited to welcome new ICS families.
