On Thursday 27 August ICS hosted two virtual curriculum information evenings from 19:00 – 21:00 for Grade 6 and Grade 11 parents.
Parents of Grade 6 students received a curriculum overview document in advance as well as a link for the meeting. Promptly at 19:00, the meeting opened with a preliminary introductory session, followed by subject specific introductions and overviews given by Grade 6 teachers.
Grade 6 parents remained in the same meeting link throughout the evening, as teachers and the Heads of Departments discussed the aims of the course, learning topics and themes for the Grade 6 school year, as well as students' progress assessments and the "four tips for success" in a particular subject.
Grade 11 parents also received subject briefs in advance, as well as links to each of the online meetings. An introductory session, lasting 30 minutes, provided parents with an overview of the diploma and included references to Theory of Knowledge (TOK), Extended Essay (EE), Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS), Physical Education (PE) and Personal Development Project (PDP), followed by overviews of the courses by Grade 11 teachers delivered through a unique link.
Both Grade 6 and Grade 11 parents were able to share questions through the chat function or through emails, and responses to their questions were shared with them through these channels as well.
