Association for Music in International Schools' (AMIS) High School Honour Choir Festival

This week we are celebrating the participation of three Grade 12 singers at the Association for Music in International Schools' (AMIS) High School Honour Choir Festival. Monica C., Emilie E. and Sophie K. were selected from hundreds of hopeful singers at international schools around the globe to sing in the Honour Mixed Choir, which was conducted by Dr Edith Copley, Director of Choral Studies at Northern Arizona University, USA. The festival included three days of intense rehearsals, followed by a Gala Concert on Saturday 3 March at the broadcasting studio of the Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg, Haus des Rundfunks. The Honour Mixed Choir performed repertoire ranging from Brahms lieder to an African celebration song, and also joined students from the Honour Women's and Men's choirs to unite in song and perform the world premiere of 'The Power of One' by Welsh composer Paul Mealor.
