ICS is pleased to provide a Before and After School Care Programme that offers many engaging activities and homework assistance for Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 5 students remaining on campus before or after school, Monday through Friday.
Parents who are seeking a Before and After School Care Programme where their children have access to a potpourri of activities and academic assistance, need look no further. ICS students will find on our spacious campus, a warm and welcoming space where they can relax, pursue creative projects or alternatively, participate in outdoor activities.
Puffy cushions and comfy chairs, a tepee tent as a cosy reading nook, tea party settings, await those that visit the centre. Since the programme began in 2015, an array of arts and crafts projects have been delighting children as has the wide assortment of reading material. The teaching staff strive to create a tranquil atmosphere that is calming for youngsters. During snack breaks, healthy foods are served.
Practising new reading skills in addition to teacher-led storytelling time are especially popular with the children. Another favourite activity is building structures using different materials, which aids in developing math skills, informing youngsters about weight, gravity and geometry. One can also find projects where older children instruct the younger ones in a display of collaborative learning. Of note is that individualised teaching assistance is available to students with homework tasks.
Seasonal-themed craft projects are regularly on the agenda - flowers made from wool, paper, tissue paper and other materials for wreaths in springtime or holiday decorations using clay, sprinkles, and coloured pens.
