Posters displaying the artwork of students and teachers give parents a glimpse of the activity within the school.
In mid-May we enthusiastically began welcoming students back to campus. But due to the health mandates of Canton Zurich, we have not yet been able to welcome parents back to campus buildings – they can only drop off students in the car park. We miss the energy of parents, and we know that parents miss the connection with campus, with students, and with each other.
To give parents a glimpse into the creativity happening within the school, we have lined the car park with students and teachers’ artwork. To date, it has included art created by students during Learning@Home and stunning prints of The Flowers, an exhibition by ICS’s Head of Visual Arts Janet Howell. Also, a poster series of inspirational quotes helps bring perspective to these challenging times. Look for additional exhibitions in the coming weeks – images from Grade 12 Art students, images from Grade 5 students’ Middle Years Programme Exhibition, and others.
We hope that these displays of colour, beauty, and hope remind parents of the creativity and energy happening within classrooms. And we look forward to the day when we can welcome back families to all parts of our campus.
