The ICS Primary Leadership Team and our Primary teaching staff welcomed parents to two individually scheduled Virtual Back to School Information Evenings.
To protect our community, both Primary Back to School Information Evenings took place virtually this year. The information evenings are designed to provide parents with an overview of the educational programmes for each Grade level. They give parents an opportunity to connect with their child’s classroom teacher, other specialists, ICS school services staff and with each other.
On Monday evening 24 August Nursery to Kindergarten 2 parents were welcomed to online Grade Level Presentations by Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten 1 and 2, and Nursery teaching staff, followed by Homeroom meetings and Info Booth presentations about Academic and School Services.
On Tuesday evening 25 August, parents of our Grade 1-5 students joined the online platform which again included separately timed Grade level and Homeroom presentations, as well as Info Booths, first for Grades 1, 2 and 3 parents, followed later in the evening by presentations for parents of Grade 4 and 5 students.
On both evenings, ICS Primary Principal Nathaniel Atherton, Deputy Primary Principal Ms Boucher and Primary Years Programme Coordinator Ms Febrey welcomed parents. Virtual Booth representatives from German, PE, School Services, the Arts, PYP Curriculum, Athletics, Counseling, Learning Support (LS), English as an Additional Language (EAL), and the Primary Library were also available to provide information. In addition, parents were advised that meetings to discuss their children’s individual progress and learning needs would be scheduled as Parent/Teacher conferences later in the school year.
A virtual Curriculum Information Evening for parents of ICS Grade 7 - Grade 10 students is scheduled to take place on Thursday 3 September.
