Service Learning and Community Engagement (SLCE) is an important part of a student's learning experience at ICS.
Recently, during the Service Learning and Community Engagement exhibition, ICS Grade 7 students celebrated their group projects. Completed over a period of eight months as part of the Grade 7 Personal Development Programme (PDP), the projects connected our Grade 7 students with ICS, local and international communities.
During the exhibition, students shared how they had investigated, designed and taken action in a service project that reflected their values, passions and interests. Projects focused on topics such as animal protections, the refugee crisis, sports and nutrition, and homelessness.
At ICS, ‘Service Learning and Community Engagement' accentuates the importance of learning about as well as offering service.
