From Monday 3 until Friday 7 December, Hour of Code activities at ICS are capturing the imagination of our Primary students.
Robots are loose in the Atrium, Codesters have taken over the Primary Library and Makey Makeys are experimenting with all kinds of components in Primary Arts! What’s going on? It’s the ICS Hour of Code!
The Hour of Code is designed to demystify "code", to show that anybody can learn the basics, and to broaden participation in the field of computer science. Our Primary students are participating in the Hour of Code as part of Computer Science Education Week, happening from Monday 3 - Friday 7 December.
This grassroots campaign, a celebration of computer science, is supported by over 400 partners and 200,000 educators all over the world and ICS students will be joining more than 100 million students worldwide who have been involved in Hour of Code for the 6th year running.
In addition to this week’s in-class activities, ICS is offering students the opportunity of taking advantage of programmes in Code.org, Codesters, Robots, and Makey-Makey over lunchtime between the hours of 11:50 and 12:50. Together with their classmates, our Primary students have already been showing us how motivated and inspired they are as they share learning about coding during this week’s Hour of Code!
