Sharing a winter's evening around a tree that sings!

Once again, our ICS Singers were part of Zurich's very popular 'Singing Christmas Tree' event in the heart of our host city.

Sharing a winter's evening around a tree that sings! The Singing Christmas Tree event, which has been part of pre-Christmas festivities in the city of Zürich for over 20 years, is taking place this year from 22 November to 23 December. On Thursday evening 29 November, it was the ICS Singers' turn to perform - and perform they did - in two concerts at 17:30 and 18:30. Their singing was also live-streamed again this year through the ICS Facebook page

Without a doubt, the Singing Christmas Tree is one of the most beloved and beautiful events which take place in Zurich during the season of Advent. The romantic Wiehnachtsmärt (Christmas market) at Werdmühleplatz, where choirs gather every evening to perform from the Christmas tree stage, offers holiday visitors a nostalgic carousel and 8 market stalls selling delicious, locally sourced products for every taste, including Glühwein, crêpes, or even cheese fondue.

Treating listeners to their interpretations of Christmas classics and modern holiday tunes, the ICS Singers' repertoire included Gotta Be Me, Can't Stop this Feeling, Peaceful Night, Frosty the Snowman, Winter Wonderland and Jingle Bell Rock.

Everyone standing before the Singing Christmas listened attentively to the ICS Singers' performance, and quite a few members of the audience couldn't help but sing along as our Primary students entertained the crowd with their seasonal melodies.
