Secondary student participation in extra-curricular Arts activities was celebrated on Tuesday evening 8 May at the annual ICS Arts Awards Apéro.
At ICS, the annual Arts Awards Apéro is an opportunity for students to gather and applaud each other's commitment to the Arts and recognise the collective talents and outstanding performances they have exhibited throughout the year.
During this school year, over one hundred students have been involved in over 30 different Arts clubs, ensembles, concerts and events, enriching our community through their participation.
The Arts Awards Apéro was followed by the annual Spring Concert; a fantastic showcase of the musical talents and passions of ICS Secondary students. Accomplished solo performances were presented by Ditlev W (saxophone); Eleanor R (viola); Joshua A (electric guitar); Daniel B (voice); Eunbi K, Brendan M, and Christian S. (violin); and Margherita D, Maria R, Sasha B and Medha B (piano). Ana B and Catalina K performed a vocal duet, and the concert also showcased rock bands Sisters and Brothers and Locked Out, as well as ICS ensembles, The Big Sing, ICS Strings, and ICS Stage Band.
The diverse programme included performances of classical, jazz, music theatre, film music, pop, and dubstep. Recordings from the concert can be heard on our 'ICS Records' SoundCloud.
