Six ICS Middle School students travelled to Amsterdam last weekend to attend the International Schools Mathematics Teachers Foundation (ISMTF) Middle School Mathematics Competition.
From 4 May to 6 May, six ICS MS students organized into 2 teams of 3 students each represented our school at the ISMTF Middle School Mathematics Competition in Amsterdam. The competition was hosted by the International School of Amsterdam, with over 35 international schools from across Europe and North Africa participating.
Bora O, William M, Dhruv J, Abhita W, Lana A, and Naz T travelled to the weekend maths competition together with 2 ICS faculty members.
The ISMTF provides support in the enrichment of teaching and learning of mathematics at international schools, nurtures the exchange of experiences among mathematics educators, and helps generate interest in and enthusiasm for mathematics among students attending international schools.
In addition to the competition, the weekend event featured talks from mathematicians, workshops for students, mathematical contests, and a Sunday morning mathematical scavenger hunt in downtown Amsterdam.
