Honouring our Secondary Athletes at the ICS Sports Awards

This was the third season that a ski team has again been part of the ICS winter sports. Our skiers participated in three separate events in Switzerland, returning home after each event with solid results including 23 top 10 finishes, 8 of which were top 5 results and included one 2nd and one 3rd place. Skiers Almudena M and Leo N received this year's Most Valuable Player (MVP) awards and Siarra H and Oliver T were named Most Improved Players (MIP).

Both the Middle School (MS) and High School (HS) swim teams had a very successful season. The MS team attended 5 meets and our swimmers reached many personal bests. A winter season highlight was the SCIS meet held in Basel in which our team came home with 8 top finishes, including four 1st and one 3rd place finish. MS swimmers Abigail F and Jippe J took the MVP awards with Isabela B and Philippe G named MIPs.

Our HS swim team participated in a total of 4 meets, coming home with 12 top 5 finishes from the SCIS meet in Athens, including one 1st, two 2nd and six 3rd places. HS swimmers Isabella S and Christian S won this year's MVP awards, with Linnea W and Stanislav D taking the MIPs. Both ICS teams also attended the ZIS invitational meet finishing in 3rd place.

Our HS badminton team came home with many top awards. At the ECS tournament in Lugano they won the 1st place overall trophy, with ICS player Tsewang D L named as the tournament's MVP. ICS teams were also the boys' and mixed champions at the SGIS doubles tournament, with our girls' doubles taking 2nd place and ICS player named Eshaan as the tournament's MVP. At the SGIS singles tournament, this year's Badminton season ended with the ICS team finishing 2nd place overall. At the sports awards ceremony Tsewang D L and Christian O received this year's MVP award and Lara Antonia T and Julius Z were honoured as MIPs.

Our JV and VB Boys' Basketball teams both had solid seasons. An injury and illness depleted Varsity Boys' team played their hearts out at the ESSL tournament in Stockholm and made it to the semi-finals, ending up in 3rd place. The Sports Awards evening saw Jordan B and Brendan McG named Varsity and JV MVPs respectively, with Jakob A and Jeevan S N taking the MIP awards.

After a good season of development and success, the MS Girls' A & B Basketball teams honoured Miel M and Riley S as MVPs with Brielle H and Tanushree N taking the MIP awards. On the MS Boys' A & B teams, Aristotelis P and Riccardo P were named MVPs and Peter N and Alp A were this season's MIPs. On the MS Boys' Basketball Developmental team, Joseph S was named MIP. Our MS boys' and girls' B teams played exceptionally well throughout the season, and the MS Girls B team remained undefeated, becoming ISSL and SGIS Champions!

It has been a great winter sports season for ICS with our outstanding athletes bringing home excellent results from their tournaments and meets. All our fabulous players and their dedicated coaches deserve to be proud of their accomplishments, and our sincere congratulations and applause go with them as the season comes to an end! Go Tigers!
