A team of five ICS G10 students won the Phase II business@school contest sponsored by the Boston Consulting Group.
Sixteen ICS Grade 10 students in three teams participated in the Phase ll business@school contest at the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) offices in Zurich on 8 February.
The students were required to do an analysis of a small to medium-sized company in Zurich to gain an understanding of their local market. Each student team worked with a group of BCG analysts who acted as coaches, guiding the G10s through the process and providing them with business expertise and mentoring.
For their analysis of Zurich's Brisket Southern BBQ and Bar, G10s Gian J, Fabian S, Radu S, Julian S and Albert V-B, won Phase ll of the business@school competition.
The winning team's presentation included, among other inquiries, a detailed analysis of the competitor food market, a comparison of customer and employee statistics, and the company's reviews on Yelp and Trip Advisor. The students also evaluated the Brisket's value chain - from supplier to customer - and looked carefully at Brisket financials, expenses and profits. Based on what they had learned, the G10s concluded their presentation with detailed recommendations.
In May 2018, the G10s will participate in the Phase III business@school competition which includes planning the implementation of their own business idea and taking it from procurement to distribution.
Congratulations to all the teams who participated in the business@school competition for their outstanding preparation, presentation and performance!
