Welcome To The Journey.

a journey of discovery

our strategic direction.

What distinguishes the journey of a student at ICS is our kind of education. We shape curious, courageous, and responsible young people, who serve their community and create change in their world.  The four pillars help us get there.

The Compass

Self

Charting academic and holistic student-directed journeys.

Our compass is student-directed and encourages students to chart their own courses. By providing the necessary support, they can navigate individual learning journeys and discover their interests and strengths along the way.

Student-Directed Learning: The school develops a systematic learning environment inside and outside the classroom that promotes student voice, choice, and ownership, supported by appropriate and ethical technology use and consideration of space and time.

IB Commited: As a proud IB continuum school valuing the approaches to teaching and learning. The school will explicitly teach and track all Approaches to Learning Skills through the IB Approaches to Teaching.

Pathways to Graduation: The school commits to exploring structures and programmes in which students demonstrate their holistic and academic growth. This can be tracked over time for more effective goal setting, reflection, and recognition enabling learners to navigate their individualised pathways.

the tapestry

Community

Weaving the strength of a diverse and connected community.

Our tapestry embodies the essence of belonging through growth, connection, and unity. It serves as a reminder that each member is not just an individual thread but an essential part of our larger, community-driven narrative.

Belonging: All ICS community members have an authentic sense of belonging through the intentional development of human interactions (both personal and community-driven) in order to thrive and succeed.

Social and Emotional Development: The school cultivates self-aware, empathetic, compassionate, and humble community members through the development of Emotional, Social, and Digital Intelligence.

Student Life: The school fosters an environment where learners express themselves through co-curricular and extracurricular opportunities which allow for growth, the discovery of passion, and the development of transferable skills and an enhanced sense of identity.

The Ripple

World

Reverberating waves of mindful action and meaningful change.

Our ripple effect reverberates with ethical intelligence. Our school encourages critical thinking, prompting students to consider not just the immediate outcomes of their actions but also the broader implications, reinforcing the idea that their impact involves both responsibility and foresight.

Ethical Intelligence: Our school prioritises ethical intelligence, not simply focusing on a sense of right or wrong, but how to think critically and act responsibly. Learners will understand and interpret information, seeing themselves in another, as well as consider and understand the impact of our actions.

Education for Sustainability: Our school cultivates environmentally conscious individuals who adopt a sustainable mindset, empowering them to become changemakers who recognise and respect the interconnectedness of our lifestyles and the health of our planet.

A Commitment to Service: The ICS community commits to authentic service and action through genuine local and global connections (with a commitment to our sister school Shree Mangal Dvip) which enables a profound understanding of the value of service and its power to impact local and global communities.

The Gear

Resources

The engine of progress, synchronising people, resources and innovation.

Our gear rotates with our Master Plan and reinforces our commitment to developing pioneering learning ecosystems. At ICS, we create a relevant and impactful educational experience by leveraging the strengths of all our resources. We adapt and innovate to ensure that we meet the evolving needs of our community.

Our Master Plan: Guided by our Master Plan we will ensure our school develops pioneering and relevant learning ecosystems for our community.

Future Focused: We will develop and sustain a culture of excellence in learning. Attract and retain high quality staff who drive our mission, believe in our values, and thrive in our school; preparing our students to change their world. We will strive to ensure our staff have the resources and support they need to contribute to the life of our school.

Advancement: We will leverage the power of financial health and sustainability to advance our strategic priorities by growing an endowment that matches our ambitions of excellence in education.

Beyond International

We are Inter-Community.

We are not just international, we are inter-community. Every culture, every voice, every story shapes who we are, creating a place where global citizenship is not an idea but a lived reality.

What is the value most about being a student at ICS is the sports community. I love how the school is involved with SGIS and the way that we are able to meet people from all around the world. I also love the teacher help support at the school and the way that the support is really amazing in terms of helping with after school work and assessments.Victor L.

Our teachers do not just teach. They are guides and mentors who exchange knowledge with our students, helping them build not only minds, but characters grounded in empathy and integrity

Students really care about each other at ICS. They pay attention to the wellbeing of their classmates. It really is a learning community that is full of caring and kindness. This is what truly sets ICS apart from other schools.Joel Young

What stands out most to me about teaching at ICS is our shared commitment to nurturing the whole child through strong relationships, meaningful learning, and a clear sense of purpose. It is a community where students are encouraged to think deeply, care widely, and grow with confidence.Yasmine Hashmi

Being an expat teacher is not always easy; it requires courage, resilience, and heart. When the distance from home feels heavy, community becomes everything. ICS has been more than a workplace — it has been a refuge. A place that has celebrated my successes and steadied me through uncertainty. It is, truly, a home away from home.Lana Barukcic

Ours is a community of diversity, unity, and purpose. A place where individuality and collaboration are celebrated in equal measure. We are a collective of thinkers, creators, and doers, all driven by a purpose greater than ourselves.

The warm, open, and typically American demeanor of the teachers creates an atmosphere where learning is truly enjoyable. Every child is viewed and supported individually, regardless of whether they need special support or are particularly gifted. Grade 8 Parent

Since joining ICS in the ’90s and serving as Head of Admissions until 2022, I have seen our school grow and change—but the sense of community and belonging has remained the same. Now at the reception, it’s a joy to welcome families into this special environment every day.Annina Caveng

Over many years at ICS, beginning as an Information Technology teacher and later taking on leadership roles, I have seen the school’s steady commitment to student learning. It is a community that values and actively creates meaningful opportunities for every student to grow and contribute.Jags Myanger

As a digital coach who is lucky to work with teachers and students across all grade levels, I'm inspired by how willing everyone is to try new approaches, support each other in taking risks that benefit students, and push forward innovation, especially when it involves capitalising on their own interests. Teachers and students feel excited trying something new, knowing their community will celebrate the attempt and whatever direction they choose to move next.Tanya Komandt
