It's that time of year again! Yesterday evening 34 ICS Primary students from Grades 1-5 participated in the Singing Christmas Tree, a well-loved, traditional music event which takes place in the heart of festively decorated downtown Zurich each year.
In the weeks before their performance the students were busy attending rehearsals and practicing their repertoire, and last night everyone was in good voice, well-prepared and very excited to be going on stage. Participating in a community event like the Singing Christmas Tree offers our Primary students an opportunity to take part in a collaborative musical learning experience and to interact closely with the community they are all a part of.
Last night, a huge sleigh-full of families and friends from the ICS community made their way to Zurich's Werdmühleplatz to enjoy the atmosphere around the Singing Christmas Tree. Supporting and applauding the ICS Singers, the audience listened to seasonal favourites like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Hanukkah O Hanukkah, or Jingle Bell Rock and our young and very enthusiastic musical talents delighted listeners with their spirited holiday performance! The ICS Singers' performance was very well received by all in attendance. If you weren't able to attend, you can still view the live streaming of the first performance here.
