This morning, from 09:15 to 11:15 an Open House was held for families interested in learning more about the Early Years (EY) Centre at ICS.
The Early Years Coordinator and our Early Years teachers were on hand to help parents explore EY classrooms and learning spaces, answer questions, and discuss Early Years children's individual needs.
With an emphasis on spaces that are calming, comfortable and where children have a sense of home and belonging, ICS Early Years indoor spaces are designed to support and extend learning. Outdoor learning also plays a significant role at the Early Years Centre, and children have access to two outdoor courtyards adjacent to their classrooms as well as a large, wood chipped playground. Throughout the seasons, Early Years teachers and students spend one morning a week in the forest together exploring the natural environment.
At this morning's Open House, EY staff provided parents with information about the International Baccalaureate (IB) Primary Years Programme, the bilingual strand (English/German), ICS Waldkinder (forest) learning, and the Extended Care Programme offered at ICS.
The ICS EY teaching team looks forward to welcoming you and your family to one of the next Open House events at the Early Years Centre, either on Monday 29 January or Wednesday 25 April 2018 from 09:15 – 11:15.
