Summer is approaching, and our hope is that reading is somewhere on the list of fun activities you and your family have planned!
Here's a great way for you and your family to make reading during the summer even more fun. The ICS Primary Library is offering a unique Summer Reading Programme for anyone who wishes to participate. Primary students can read on their own or families can read together.
How does it work? Primary students can pick up their Reading Travel Log and Read Around the World map in a variety of ways. They can- open and print from this week's Bulletin, download it from the Primary Library website or drop by the Primary Library for a printed copy. Use the log and map to keep a record of your reading over the summer.
Students from EY1-Grade 5 can participate in the Summer Reading Programme. Twenty minutes of reading is all it takes to travel from place to place, there are no assigned books and students and families read independently in the language of their choice.
In August, returning students bring their completed Reading Travel Logs to the Primary library. There will be certificates, bookmarks, pencils and maybe even a little tasty treat available for everyone who participates.
