How we Communicate
These are the main channels through which we communicate with parents about what is going on at school.
This website is one of the main sources of information for parents about general school activities. We encourage parents to check it regularly.
The Family Handbook (password required) contains key information about school routines, policies and procedures. It is updated every year.
Every Wednesday during term the school publishes the ICS Bulletin (password required). This tells parents about upcoming school events like field trips, performances, open days, exams, etc. Information that is personal or sensitive is emailed separately.
The printed ICS magazine, Connections, is published four times a year. Full of articles and photos from students and staff, it details school activities within and beyond the classroom. A copy is mailed to all parents.
The ICS Yearbook celebrates the school year in words and pictures, highlighting activities and achievements. It is a souvenir much treasured by our students.
The ICS Annual Report updates our community on our educational programmes, student achievements, university placements, community engagement and the work of our Parents' Association. It also carries our audited financial report.
Most school information is now sent to parents via email. We email parents using the contact details in the Family Access Module (FAM). This is the database of information the school holds on all families. It includes students' class schedules, attendance records and reports, and parents' contact and employment information.
Parents will also find online forms on FAM, including the Student Health Form. So that we have up-to-date information on students' health, we ask all parents to complete a health form for their children every year.
All parents have accounts on FAM and we encourage parents to visit FAM regularly to check their information is up to date - particularly their contact details. It is vital that the school has parents' up-to-date contact details. In FAM, parents can change any details that are incorrect. Students in Grades 6-12 also have their own FAM accounts. So if they lose their class schedule, they can find it on FAM. See more about the Family Access Module here.
