THE ICS BOARD OF TRUSTEESThe Board of Trustees is the body ultimately responsible for the governance of the school and for the It has been this way since 1968, when the school was legally established as a non-profit Foundation - officially named "Stiftung für die Inter-Community School” - and bylaws were established to set up directives concerning the organisation, administration and activities of the school. In accordance both with these bylaws and with Swiss law, the Board of Trustees manages ICS as a non-profit, non-sectarian, politically neutral school to provide an education which promotes learning, cultural and international understanding, and respect for all nationalities, religions and cultural backgrounds.
The duration of the ‘Stiftung’ is perpetual. Board members are elected to a three-year term of service and may then stand for additional terms. It is interesting to note that with only two exceptions, every Board member is a past or present parent or student at the Inter-Community School. There is a full list of
The Inter-Community School Foundation (Stiftung) publishes an Annual Report each year, detailing events of note in the Primary and Secondary schools, and carrying information on the school's IB Diploma results and annual financial statements.The Reports are posted to all families at the school and can also be read by following the links below. |

The Board of Trustees appoints a Head of School as chief executive officer to carry out the educational and administrative functions of the school. The Head of School is responsible for the day-to-day management of the school, while the Board is responsible for the setting and amending of various policies and procedures pertaining to the school.
