"I'll be back possibly in February and definitely in April," she says. "I hope to meet more members of the ICS community during each visit, and learn more about the school's educational direction and its community."
Mary-Lyn flew to Zurich from Montevideo, Uruguay, where she is current Principal of The British Schools. She remarked that one similarity between the cities of Montevideo and Zurich is their close proximity to the countryside. Although, she says, "the keen observer will note that the roaming 'Pampas' cows are hard pressed to compete with the more elegant 'Prada' cows in the beautiful Swiss hillsides!"

During her visit, Mary-Lyn met the Board of Trustees and the school's senior management and learned more about ICS's overall strategic plan. She was also interested in finding out about the school's use of Information and Communications Technology (ICT). "I am looking at the ICT infrastructure, the software applications in use and the e-learning environment school-wide," she said. "There are many good things taking place already at ICS and I would like to gain a deeper insight into what we've got in place and in what ways we can enhance this learning platform for the future." In future visits, she hopes to meet more members of staff, students and parents. |
